Mole Man is a Marvel Comics character, first appearing in Fantastic Four #1 (November 1961).
Originally named Harvey Rupert Elder, he was an explorer and inventor ostracized for his eccentric theories about a Hollow Earth. Driven underground, he discovered a subterranean world and became its ruler, leading an army of Moloids and other strange creatures.
Mole Man often clashes with surface dwellers, especially the Fantastic Four, seeing them as a threat to his underground kingdom. Despite his villainous tendencies, he sometimes demonstrates a sympathetic side, protecting his subjects and acting out of perceived necessity rather than pure malice.
